Right back to 2nd November (I am falling a bit behind here)…
Fidget LOVES Mary Poppins, we got her the DVD for her birthday, and she is allowed to watch it occasionally. But usually she gets to watch songs from the film on our laptops from YouTube. Here she is perfecting her umbrella work on supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (which she can just about say to ask for).
Same day, Squidge was having a go at building with some small blocks, she was building them really high so I quickly turned on the vid….
6th Nov, Grandma and Granddad were visiting on their way back from a holiday down south. M took the chance (while the kids were entertained) to get the stove in the back room plumbed in…
and fired up…
Fidget had also been invited to our neighbour Y’s 3rd birthday. They had a fun-bus pull up next door that had been converted inside to soft play. Fidget and I hopped on board…
7th Nov was the Sunday, time for more playing with Grandma and Granddad…
and a story and cuddle with Daddy.
On the Sunday evening we decided to rearrange the room to take best advantage of the stove, this will now be our “winter layout” la-de-da.
Tuesday 9th and we needed to get out to the shops in the afternoon as supplies were really running low. One of Squidge’s slippers had gone missing, and they were getting a little on the small side so we had a look for some new ones at the supermarket. We tried on various ones, and as soon as she put on these she just started laughing, so monkey slippers it was…
We had our tea at the supermarket…
Modelling the slippers (and cosy cardies)…
12th November – Friday evening we were in the front room waiting for Daddy to come home, chatting away I said Squidge’s name and she said it straight back. I then repeated it and so did she, she kept saying her name – I ran to grab the camera and took some video. She said it once more – at the very beginning of the film – then no more!
14th Nov was Saturday again. It was really lovely, we had the fire going in the back room all day and just played in there – M made a lovely Sunday lunch. Fidget and I played cafes (while Squidge napped and M cooked), Fidget set the table, waited the table and cooked the food, it was really good fun.
Later when Squidge had finished her nap we took some Christmas pictures of the pair of them. It is certainly harder to get a good picture of the pair of them, but there were a few…
my fave…
The eagle-eyed among you may have spotted that Squidge’s outfit is recycled from Christmas ‘O8 (http://teamchallis.blogspot.com/2008/12/we-spent-this-weekend-at-home-we-popped.html), though the slippers are “model’s own”…
I don’t know what Fidget is doing in this picture but it makes me laugh every time I look at it – I think she was purposefully not smiling, but who knows what goes on in that beautiful head…
