Made some good progress on tidying up the dining room over the weekend. We got a curtain pole put up and hung some fab curtains. M also made a really good start at putting up some cabinets we have had sitting around the room for quite a while.

The room is looking really lovely now, and we spent alot of time in there at the weekend. Many of the cool things (the curtains, the table, chairs, cabinets and bean bag) all came from M's aunt & uncle, and I think they are happy to be reunited and looking stylish again.

It was also our anniversary at the weekend, and aunty M and uncle A came to babysit Fidget so that M & I could go out. We had a great time, and my falling asleep during the ballet, was no reflection on the quality of the production!

The family Challis had a lovely Easter weekend together, we have been trying to get some of the little left over jobs done on the house and so have a rolling M & C list. I managed to get some more gardening done, with onions going in, and then some peas, spring onion and swiss chard sown too. M got some of the new skirting fixed to the wall and we made a start with putting up the dining room cupboards, whilst also finding the time to play with Fidget.

On Saturday we had the Jolly Babies Easter party, M stayed back to wrestle with the skirting, but Fidget and I had a super time

Particularly with the bubbles!...

On Sunday, we headed across to see Aunty M, Uncle A(to be!-big congratulations to Aunty M and Uncle A!!!), Granny, Grandpa and M's cousin A and M. Fidget had a lovely day, and M and I ate lots of lovely food, chocs and cakes!

Fidget had a great weekend practicing her walking with Granny and Grandpa, but also at home in her sit in walker and now with her walker-trolly. She seems to be starting to figure out that she needs to hold onto the walker and that her feet need to keep up with her top half - these are both new realisations!

Have now got more memory!! Hurrah!!

So to update...on Tuesday we had a flying visit from Granny and Grandpa as Fidget and I were on our way out and as they were on their way to Aunty M. They dropped off some plants from their garden, for me to plant in our front garden. So in the afternoon, before popping out to mummies afternoon we tried to do some planting.

It all would have gone quite well, Fidget was happy to play in her pram and watch mummy, but I had forgotten about the thin layer of concrete left in certain points of the bed by the builders, so we were pleased when M arrived home early and could lend some muscle to the cause.

Figet has had another 2 great days at nursery. On Wednesday, she presented us with more of her handywork, a beautiful Easter card for us and a chocolate rice crispy cake each!
Thanks Fidget!!

Fidget and I were trapped in the house today, well I say trapped, we could have got out if there was a fire or something, but we wouldn't have been able to shut the door behind us. So for the purposes of going to sing and sign we were trapped.

Fidgets second tooth is now just breaking through, so last night wasn't good. By this afternoon we were both climbing the walls abit from being cooped up, but then we had a lovely suprise... Mush and mini-Mush turned up... with homemade Easter cakes!
yummy! What a pair of twinkling stars.

Given Fidget's delight in exploring and her growing mobility, we have made a start with the baby proofing, M put catches on the most exciting kitchen cupboards, so far of course this has only served to fox M and I.

We also bought a fire guard, Fidget did think this really was forward planning - as we dont even have a fire there yet!!

Fidget's new skill this week is propper clapping, so we have all been clapping alot this weekend.

Another big gap between posts... still haven't resolved my computer issue, but hopefully wont be long until normal service will be resumed.

On Monday we had another good session at sign and sign, in the afternoon I tried to get a picture of Fidget's tooth...

the second tooth doesn't seem too far behind, we wait for it's arrival.

Tuesday morning was Jolly Babies, Fidget used her walking skills (dragging mummy along) to dash to grab the big babies instruments, she got hold of a xylophone and was very pleased, but was less sure what to do with it when she had it.

Tuesday afternoon was mummies afternoon, at the Challis Palace. M made us delicious muffins and I managed to turn the oven on and off at the right time.

M and Fidget had a really good daddy's day, they went swimming together, did the washing, walked to the shops, did some cooking, plenty of playing, took Fidget's birthday photos (she is now 35 weeks old and was 8 months on Thursday), and went to Twinkling Stars.
Fidget has been using her new found mobility to take any opportunity to explore.
M then really earned his gold star by looking after Fidget while I went out bowling with the mummies. We had a great time, but as I sit here and type I am feeling the effects of what was a rather late night!

Have nabbed M's computer so time to catch up on the week previous...

On Monday, Fidget and I had a great morning at sing & sign, Fidgets new found mobility meant that she was happier to try and crawl around on the floor for longer amid the other babies, rather than wanting to be stood up (it is quite difficult to sign whilst holding a standing baby), so we both enjoyed the session. That afternoon, I thought we could try out the swings in the park for the first time, however the bright weather turned rather nasty with a heavy hailstorm. Undeterred, Fidget and I got wrapped up and headed out with a towel to dry the swing. One of us was enthusiastic about this outing, and it wasn't Fidget. It was quite cold out, and there was only us and a lady walking a dog in the whole park!

After M and his Dad's work on the garage ceiling at the weekend, Fidget was able to sleep in her own room for the first time. She took to it very nicely, and frankly so did we! We certainly appreciated not having to creep into our room in the dark. Her cot is lovely and comfy, and she has pretty much slept through every night since. I think the fact that she is now eating really well and wearing herself out with walking and commando crawling played a part, but the move to her own room sealed the deal!

On Tuesday, we had Jolly Babies in the morning, during which Fidget was keen to demonstrate her commando crawls to her chums. Mummy's morning has now been moved to a Tuesday afternoon now that S has had to go back to work. Fidget will miss seeing little T regularly, but hopefully we will get to see them both. Fidget enjoyed playing with her chums again, and was keen to walk around, though she hasn't quite got the hang of walking around obstructions (such as other babies) and would rather walk through them.

Wednesday and Thursday were back to nursery, all the staff were commenting on how she's been coming on and she apparently spent much of Thursday (when not playing with the parachute or treasure chest) doing laps of the nursery room.

On Friday, Fidget was 34 weeks...
On Saturday, we had a good tidy up of the house and M cooked some lovely food which M and I enjoyed once Fidget was tucked up in bed.

Today, M hung the inner door for the porch, we felt the benefit almost straight away. I put Fidget down so I could take a photo and she immediately went for the chisels!

Apologies for the gap in posts. I have taken so many pictures and videos of Fidget that it filled up ALL my poor computer's memory! So I have been unable to download anything since the weekend. Hopefully I will be able to commandeer M's laptop and start filling that up until I receive my new external drive!

There is plenty to report on, Fidget's first night in her own room was Monday and we've all been having much better nights sleep since. She had her first go on the swings in the park... to mixed reviews. Mummy's morning has become Mummy's afternoon and on a Tuesday, so we have had fun with our chums. She's had two great days at nursery getting to practice her walking, and a fun daddy day with swimming and baby gym and of course Friday photos.

Hopefully pictures to follow soon.

Mothers day today, and I got a lovely surprise, on Thursday at nursery Fidget painted me a card and then on Friday with daddy, she painted a beautiful card with her hand and foot in the shape of a flower - how creative! They are the most fantastic artworks I have ever seen. She had also been out with daddy and asked him to buy me some flowers and chocolates.
She's continued having fun with Granny, and not content with just moving forward on her front, she has figured out how to walk (with some help).

she then took on the next challenge of figuring out how the butterfly on a stick worked...
just before her bath she looked like she was going to try crawling proper, but we said enough is "enough for one weekend Fidget" and told her to give it a rest!!
