On Friday morning last week we had a visit from Iestyn and his mum Naomi. It was lovely to see them, Fidget really likes Iestyn and he doesn't seem too put off by her affection for him! Fidget says "When I see Iestyn I will give him cuddles and kisses" which she invariably does and he doesn't seem to mind too much. They play very nicely together, so Naomi and I could enjoy a cup of tea and a good chat.

Here they are playing doctor and patient, Iestyn declared that his arm hurt, so Fidget put him to bed and proceeded to bandage him up...

On Sunday we had a visit from a friend from work and got to meet his lovely wife and gorgeous new baby Theo, who is 2 months old. We had a nice lunch. Fidget was very sweet with Theo and even got some cuddles with him, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures.
Sunday was a bit of a low point with the potty training with Fidget. Nothing went in the loo or potty all day. At one point during lunch she did a quiet wee behind my chair then ran round the table still weeing. I continued chatting to our guests as I mopped up the river of wee that now surrounded them! Fidget explained that she wanted to wear knickers but did not want to use the toilet or potty thank you very much and would much rather continue having new knickers and trousers each time she wet herself. I explained that wasn't part of the deal. After she did a wee in her chair, while laughing, moments after I'd asked her if she needed a wee - we felt it was time to lay out Fidget's options. We put her back in pull ups and said that if she could tell us when she needed a wee and we could get a proper wee in the loo or potty, she could go back to knickers. So Monday was back to square 1, with her just going in her pull ups all day, but on Tuesday morning she went to her potty off her own back and did a wee! Hurrah - well done Fidget. So on weee go...
Back to Monday, Squidge went in the door bouncer for the first time, she seemed to think it was fairly cool.

Squidge was 16 weeks old on Tuesday...

She is getting stronger on her front now and even seems to enjoy the different perspective. Little video of Squidge having tummy time, where I also demonstrate the first rule of parenting "always know where Bear is"

A BIG apology

I am so sorry, I have just found out that the birth announcement cards I sent to EVERYONE had the wrong postage meaning you had to trudge out to the post office and pay to pick it up... not at all the happy message I had intended! I feel really bad about it and such an idiot. So sorry. sorry, sorry.

Started potty training properly on Saturday, Fidget was very excited about getting to wear knickers or "nic-nacks!". For most of Saturday there was alot more wee on the floor than anywhere else, but Fidget didn't give up. In the evening we had a bit of a breakthrough when we realised the potty was quite uncomfortable for her and had left a mark on her bottom, so we started using the travel potty over the toilet. Fidget was a bit scared at first but when convinced she wouldn't fall in she was much happier and did a wee in the toilet.
Here she is playing peepo in Daddy's dressing gown...!

On Sunday we didn't get much more wee on target and by early afternoon Fidget was asking for pull-ups.
I managed to get a bit more work done on the curtains, and yes this image has not been photoshopped, that really is me with an iron!!
On Monday Fidget asked to have her nic-nacks back on. I had to pop out to pick up a parcel (a proper toilet seat for Fidet) and a few groceries, but as soon as we got back she had them on. It started off really well, she asked to go to the toilet but as she started to do a wee, it somehow managed to shoot up and forward over the toilet seat and into her knickers! Poor Fidget.

For Lunch, Fidget made a pizza for us...

But the cheeky little chef kept eating the toppings rather than add them to the pizza...

We did eventually get some on...
It was delicious, thanks Fidget!
After lunch I sat down to feed Squidge and Fidget decided to do some drawing. She drew a big circle and thinking it might be the pizza I asked her about it. She told me she was drawing me and proceeded to add the eyes, nose, mouth and hair (the little squiggle at the top) telling me at each point what she was drawing. I was so impressed....
She then said she was going to draw Daddy, and again told me she was drawing his eyes, nose, glasses (the squiggle across the eyes), his hair and his toes...
I think they are brilliant and surprisingly recognisable!
