Peaceful night with the girls, the morning was sunny. We set off for Quimper.
We parked up and walked into town, there was a market on that we ambled through. The architecture in the centre was fantastic. With the cathedral in the background there were fabulous vistas at every turn. It was so beautiful I was surprised that I had never heard of the place before.
We started with a look round the cathedral, Fidget and Granny lit a candle…
and I admired more fantastic windows…
Outside the cathedral was a fab carousel, Fidget was really keen to have a go. We asked her what she wanted to go in and she chose the little car…
We walked across the square and found a cool fountain and more great views…
Crepes for lunch again. Squidge finished a whole cheese crepe…
ladies and their deserts… We wandered up the hill to find a lovely little park…
We wandered on to find more of the old city ramparts where they had another small garden and some cool totem poles. Not to be outdone – another Challis totem…
Next door was the courtyard of the Breton museum. We didn’t go in the museum but did have a look around the courtyard…
A walk back along the river and back to the car finished a great day out in Quimper. After tea back at the cottage we had a family swim.
The girls went up to bed then after eating, M and I went back out to swim. We tried out the outdoor pool, the sky was beautiful and it was great fun splashing around on our own – but it was too cold to loll around – you really had to be doing serious lengths not to get hypothermic! So wrapped up in our towels we waddled across to the indoor pool. We had a try of the sauna and a bit more of a swim before heading back.
