Squidge 44weeks and standing!

On Tuesday Squidge was 44 weeks old…

Squidge has been standing up unaided alot more, I have been trying to get some video or pictures, but my early attempts last week weren't that illuminating.

Here she was standing up, but I got the video going too late and she had already grabbed the basket, but right at the start of the video you can see she isn't really using the basket for support...

playing with lego and again not needing much support from the house...

and here I managed to get a good close up of her doing really well with the lego...

Squidge has already amassed a number of lovely soft toys, she is currently bestowing her affections on Tigger (thanks to Nicola and Peter), she is usually giving him big cuddles when we go in to get her out of her cot. So on Thursday I thought I would get some pictures of Squidge and Tigger (or Tiggy as Fidget calls him)…

20100812_44weeks_027Squidge also got some cheeky cuddles in with bear… shhhh… don’t tell Fidget!

With her improved balance, Squidge has got really good at zooming round pushing the little car...

On Friday afternoon we went to Ugly bugs. We were joined by Naomi and Iestyn. It was really quiet and we had a table right next to the soft play area so I was quite happy to let Squidge roam around on her own as I could see her easily and there weren’t too many bigger kids crashing around. She had a brill time, particularly standing over the air jets. She then made her way to the ball pool and dived in head first.

Fidget and Iestyn had fun playing in the house, Iestyn got on with the DIY and Fidget went in to do the cooking! Come on guys it is 2010!

Saturday we had a very lazy morning, with pancakes and playing in the back room in our pyjamas (all the ps). Fidget got her dolls ready for swimming…

20100814_44weeks_041 Squidge started walking around pushing the pushchair demonstrating her balance skills, but she was also getting grumpy so the video I took has her screaming unpleasantly and I don't want to post it!!

Sunday afternoon we had the first glimpse of sunny weather it seems we’ve had for a while, so we set up camp in the garden.

20100815_44weeks_050 We sat around eating some peas from the garden, then Squidge decided to stand around.

I got some pictures…

More birthdays: Great Aunty S and Ellis is 3!

Realised that in my last few posts I missed out a few pictures taken on my phone

Friday just gone we were back at Ugly bugs again, but we hadn’t realised it would close at 4, so I hadn’t been able to get the girls their tea. So Mush and the boys joined us at pizza hut for tea which was great. Fidget and Ellis had great fun jumping up and down on the bench and eating everybody else's’ food.

Squidge and Leo got on with eating from their high chairs and having a look round.

On Saturday morning we set out for Great Aunt and Uncle S and K’s house. The M5 was chocca and it took us over 2 hours to get there (about 40 mins coming home). Fidget was brilliant in the car, happy to look out the window and chat about where the other cars were going. Squidge slept for a little while but towards the end was not happy but Fidget was talking to her telling her “it will be alright” and throwing toys to her – we were very impressed.

The day was a small family gathering to belatedly celebrate S’s 60th birthday. M’s great Uncle and Aunty M and S were there, along with Granny and Grandpa. Aunty M, Uncle A, C and J also battled the M5 to get there too.

While S sorted out the lunch we took a walk out to see the horses in the field.

20100807_Sheila-n-Ellis_01520100807_Sheila-n-Ellis_016Fidget was keen to meet the horses but not so sure about getting up close, Squidge had no reservations. 20100807_Sheila-n-Ellis_019 she also wanted to give the lion pats…20100807_Sheila-n-Ellis_022 Daddy and Grandpa set up a little assault course for Squidge across the table…20100807_Sheila-n-Ellis_024 20100807_Sheila-n-Ellis_025 Then Aunty M, Uncle A and the twins arrived…

20100807_Sheila-n-Ellis_027 20100807_Sheila-n-Ellis_02820100807_Sheila-n-Ellis_033I got to have a chat and some smiles with C… 20100807_Sheila-n-Ellis_036

Lunch was delicious, S had done a spinach and chicken thing in puff pastry with roasted peppers and aubergines, potatoes and green beans. Both girls ate really well, Fidget was brilliant and ate the lot, Squidge was also brilliant and ate everything bar the green beans! She couldn’t get enough aubergine and pepper. She ate most of it herself using her fingers which meant I could enjoy my lunch too. She even picked the larger lumps of chicken out to eat and ate the pastry, then I helped her out with the spinach.

For pudding there was strawberries and vol-o-vents (sp?) again the girls wasted no time in getting stuck in to their food. I was very proud of them both.

After lunch we had a walk to look at the stables and then out to see the horses in the field again.

It was a really lovely day, thanks S and K!

Sunday was Ellis's 3rd birthday party, it was at soft play. Fidget and I went on our own which was lovely, my bag was not overflowing with nappy bags and special food and bibs. My arms were free, I could sit and chat! Fidget had a bit of a run about, but wasn’t that sure. I went on soft play with her and we went down the slides a few times which was good fun. I forgot to take any pictures – doh! I remembered when we got across to the party room for food and cake, but I’m afraid all my pictures were really poor, so it doesn’t really do the party justice, but here are a few…

the birthday boy…

20100808_Sheila-n-Ellis_081 It was a really good party – I certainly enjoyed myself and Fidget was really pleased with her party bag – particularly the pirates eye patch and box of “tickets” which we tried to convince her was a card game – but she was having none of it.

Monday morning we went out to the supermarket, Fidget was really excited when I found a two berth trolley and she got to sit next to Squidge, she kept putting her arm round her and giving her friendly headlocks – but they both survived and enjoyed the experience…

20100809_Sheila-n-Ellis_014 back home it was a really rainy afternoon so I did my best to entertain them both around the house, the tunnel came out and so did the parachute…

We were reading Cinderella and sleeping beauty quite a few times so I built a lego castle. I was really proud of it, it lasted about 3 minutes before Squidge-zilla and Fidget-kong tore it down.
