M let me have a lay-in and a lazy start to the day, then we were off to B&Q to get some paint for the mural for Fidget's room-to-be. Fidget had a long sleep in the afternoon so I made a start, can you tell what it is yet?....

On Saturday afternoon I was out for mummy S's suprise birthday, so Fidget and Daddy had great fun together. I had a great night out with the mummies and S's freinds, may have some photos from that later.

Granny and Grandpa were down for the weekend just gone. Grandpa was helping M with putting in an extractor fan ready for the downstairs loo. Granny looked after Fidget on Friday.
On Saturday, Fidget, Granny and me went out to the shops which was fun. We had a great day.
On Sunday morning we woke up to find that some scumbags had broken into our car overnight, and later discovered they had also broken into the garage. Most of Sunday morning was spent trying to sort out the insurance and window repair. M and I were pretty glum about it, Granny was a great help keeping Fidget entertained.
In the afternoon, Aunty M came by and Fidget, Granny, Aunty M and I went into Bristol to the shops looking for the outfit for Fidget to wear at Aunty M's wedding.
The girls all had great fun, and Fidget really enjoyed running round the shops and looking at all the shiny stuff!

On Friday I took the day off to cover for M being in China still, Fidget and I had a nice lunch together...
In order they are: Be-be, jing-jing, huan-huan, ying-ying and ni-ni.

We had a super day and then in the evening Daddy arrived back.
Fidget was very pleased to find him on Saturday morning. He brought 5 little friends with him, presents from the China office.
We were both very happy to have him back. We went into Bristol to look at stuff for the downstairs loo. Fidget had a great time running around in the bathstore and picking up rubber ducks. We had a lovely lunch together, Fidget took a liking to the raw red onion that came as a garnish to my lunch, mmmm - mmmmmm!
On Sunday we went to our next door neighbour I's 3rd birthday. It was pretty chaotic and noisy but good fun.

Sorry, been a bit of a break in posting, so let's try and catch up.
Back at home from Dorset, Fidget has been honing her hand eye coordination, and honestly she built this tower all by herself (why else would we have photographed it!).
It was back to nursery for Fidget, thanks to Aunty M and Uncle A for the cardigan
and thanks to Aunty N and Uncle P for the trousers.

and toys in the pool room...

Then a week ago last Thursday we were back to Dorset for Great Grandpa's funeral. Aunty M and Uncle A were also there. The service was very moving, it was sad to say goodbye, but he certainly lived a very good life. Fidget was very well behaved during the service and enjoyed meeting everyone at the meal afterwards.
We stayed for the weekend, Fidget was really pleased to spend more time with Granny and Grandpa, enjoying the spinny chair in the study...
Fidget's talking has really come on over Christmas. The list of words and confidence with them grows day by day, but typically we get "bear!" always with an exclamation mark when looking for and finding her favourite playmate, "baby" for her dolls, "tea" for any drink other than milk, "toes", "no", "eyes", "nana" for bannana, "more" with signs, "b" with the bird sign often accompanied by the "listen" sign, "woof" with the sign for dog, "moo", "baa", "quack", "door" and "shut door", "oh dear" and "uh oh!", she also does the sign for milk, brushing teeth, hat, hot and gentle. She is also copying sounds and words alot more. She also says "ampa" for Grandpa or Grandad, "anny" for Granny, "ama" for Grandma, lots of "Mummy, Mummy, Mummy, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy" and also "Faith" (very quietly).
On Sunday Grandpa drove M to the airport as he was heading off to China. Fidget and I had a nice lunch with Granny then drove home.
Monday afternoon was mummies afternoon at the Challis Palace. The front room was lovely and warm but it did get a bit chaotic and after a while there was hardly a clear scrap of floor for the babies to run around on!

Sadly Fidget's Great Grandpa died a week ago on Sunday. We all headed to Dorset to visit Grandpa and Granny.
Fidget was pleased to see Granny and Grandpa so soon after Christmas
(thanks to N&P for the lovely top).
Fidget had a swim every afternoon, on the first one, she was very happy to wear her armbands and float around.
Grandpa was very busy making arrangements and Daddy was helping out by washing the cars, Fidget ran around making everyone smile. (Thanks to Aunty M and Uncle A for the lovely cardigan).

Fidget even made herself useful in the kitchen, helping Granny make the dinner.
We had a quiet new years eve. On new years day, Granny, Fidget and me went to Poole park, Fidget was transfixed by the birds...

We then went across to the play park, but it was really cold, so we headed to the cafe for a drink and a cornish pastie.
Back at Granny and Grandpa's, Fidget took some bread out for the birds, and then kept close watch at the window to see if they would come and eat it.

Then it was time for more swimming...
Fidget was getting more confident and kicking her legs really well

She also enjoys walking around the edge...

and watching Daddy sink

It was nice to play with Granny and Grandpa, we got some cool matching pairs cards from the charity shop which Fidget thought were great, especially the tea cup and the cake cards.
Back in the pool on Friday, we tried to get Fidget practicing blowing bubbles under water, she kind of got the hang of it and would blow, blow, blow and lower her face to the water, but just before the surface the temptation would be too much and she would stick her tongue out for a drink!

Her swimming is really coming on, she got to be really confident, so that from standing at the side, if she wanted to follow a toy into the deeper pool she would just lean forward (I popped a hand under her chest) and start kicking her legs.
Then it was time for more swimming...
Fidget really enjoyed venturing into Grandpa's study, where he would spin her on his chair or she might find some interesting gadget. They also had a look on the internet for pictures of bears, which was super.

On Friday night Aunty M and Uncle A arrived, Fidget got to see them on Saturday morning (thanks to Uncle A and Aunty B for the lovely top). But then it was time for us to head home.

So we waved bye-bye.

Back home, we got on with some tidying around the house, and Fidget played with her new toys. Thanks to Uncle A and Aunty B for the lovely top.
She enjoyed taking her dog for a walk, thanks Great Grandma.
