Fidget would like to thank Uncle A and Aunty B for the clacky dinosaur and to Granny and Grandpa for the book.
Hopefully you can see from some of the photos above, just how Fidget's sitting skills are coming on day by day. This morning M made cherry pancakes, and Fidget was having a great time sitting in her chair and playing with a new Christmas book.

Second try of the parsnip today, and it is as we thought - Fidget does not like it! Even letting her squidge her hands in it, in the hope they would then be put in her mouth, did not work - "parents...do you think I am stupid or something?". Only 14 more tries to go until it is ruled out! We might try her on something else tomorrow though, as M has been cooking up butternut squash and carrot.

Forgot to add yesterday, thank you to the sponsors of Fidget's new years eve outfit.... thanks to Granny and Grandpa for the lovely shirt and to Jim, Sue and James for the leggings (and the top and tights - all lovely colours).
A quiet new years day, bit of pottering, walk round the park, few naps, and Fidget now onto two meals a day - bit of baby rice for breakfast and swede for lunch.
Last night our intention was to see in the new year as we meant to go on with an early night and some quality zzzzz's, unfortunately it was not to be, and it was Fidget's most disturbed night yet. I don't think the "end of the world" firework display surrounding our house helped much, but I think it was more that she doesn't want us to get our hopes up. Maybe by 2009 we can look forward to some sleep.

she has been doing well with eating and today and yesterday enjoyed pureed swede - yum! It has been a bit thicker than the babyrice, and it is interesting to note that what goes in, really does come out!
Today, Fidget was looking splendid in new clothes received at christmas, the outfit above was sponsored by Rachel&Darren and the Mush-es, thanks to Rachel&Darren for the spotty vest and trousers and to the Mush-es for the stripey top, what serendipity that they go together so well. Also Fidget would like to thank J for her Piglet who is very soft and coordinated very well today and to the Booths for the flappy duck (and for the cuddly teddy which is lovely and cuddly and will be great at bed-time).

Grandma & Grandad Walker had given Fidget a very large present wrapped in pink princess paper so we decided to open it before travelling down as the car would be packed to capacity anyway and also it was Fidget's 23 week birthday.
It was a big sqwishy snail rocker and wheely toy, it is really comfy and it's ears sing songs!
On arrival at Granny & Grandad's the present opening continued with Fidget opening a lovely hat and scarf that Granny had bought in Germany. Fidget's performance on opening the present was succesful but slow and we did wonder if we would need to get her started on the unwrapping immeadiately given the mountain of presents received.
On the Saturday, M's aunt M and uncle S arrived followed by Fidget's auntie M and uncle A. That evening we all got to try out the new pool and M showed off his excellent swimming skills, I think this display inspired Fidget as she was certainly more enthusiastic when it came to her go, than she has been before.
On Sunday, we went to the beach with M&A, this was the first time that Fidget had seen the sea (the mighty river Humber doesn't count), she had a lovely time and liked the sound of the waves.
On Christmas day, Fidget wore the outfit chosen by you Fidget-fans, the happy skirt and top and she looked lovely...
Fidget recieved so many fantastic presents, lovely soft toys, pretty clothes and shoes, great books, super toys, we will try and thank you all individually, but for now, thank you to everyone who sent presents.
Fidget's weaning has been going well, so while we all had christmas lunch, Fidget worked her way through pureed potatoe and carrot, I say we all had christmas lunch - M was struck down ill and only had some soup - he couldn't even eat christmas pud - his most favourite food!
I think you all made a good choice and that she looked lovely on Christmas day - ta.
