Fidget shared her sticker book with Squidge.
Then pan’o’chocolate…
From Fidget, Squidge got a magnetic dress up scene.
and a lovely card…
From Grandma and Granddad – a great pop up tent – thanks!
A few things from Mummy & Daddy
Before Squidge was born, M had been in China just after the Olympics and brought back a set of mascots for Fidget, so we thought we would get one of the London ones for Squidge.
Fidget couldn’t help getting in on the opening.
After making Fidget a felt campfire for her birthday, I had a think about what I could make for Squidge that she would like. There is a bird theme in her room, so I decided to make a birdhouse to go on her bookshelf along with a bird family (and worms)…
We went out for the day to a nearby country park thing (forgotten the name of it), the girls all dressed ready to go, but time for a few more presents, including some presents from Granny & Grandpa including a Cinderella DVD…
Goldilocks and the 3 bears puppets…
thanks!
It was a lovely day out…
pretty flowers…
There was lots of stuff for the girls to play with….
The girls enjoyed the trampoline.
There was an incident on the trampoline, which did have to result in a time out for Squidge, but had me laughing my arse off. Squidge kept falling over, and when she tried to get up Fidget would bounce and she would fall over more. It got to a point where Squidge just snapped, fortunately as Squidge heaved herself up (again) Fidget fell over, Squidge bounced over to her, grabbed hold of the back of Fidget’s cardigan (as she lay face down on the trampoline) and shook her with what can only be described as pure baby rage, tears rolling down her face and uttering baby expletives such as “YOU!!” “NASTY!!” “STOP!”
time for a snack
we had a wander round to look at the animals
We took the opportunity of a group photo, but Granddad was messing around…
so we had another go!
There was a big inflatable thingy, Squidge gave it a go, but wasn’t impressed, there was quite a bit of wet sand around the bottom and I think for Squidge it was just causing flashbacks to the trampoline, so she retired. Fidget carried on for a while
Back at home we had some muffins to blow out 3 candles…
From Uncle A and Aunty B a super apron and chef’s hat which was just what you need when you have your own sweet shop! Thanks Aunty N!
Squidge’s party was on the Sunday. Squidge had requested a strawberry party. It was at a soft play (which was Princess and Prince themed – but hey!). Squidge had also requested that the party bags should have balloons tied to them (after having a party bag at a recent party with a balloon attached).
So I went strawberry themed on the balloons and party bags, you can’t really buy strawberry balloons, but you can stick green leaves and paint gold pips on 30 red balloons.
For the cake, we’d decided on a basket of strawberries. M made a lovely cake, covered it in marzipan, stuck wafer tubes around the edge to make the basket and filled it with lovely strawberries. We had been going to make marzipan and icing strawberries, but then our friend Helen, suggested (very intelligently) that we could of course just use real strawberries!!
It was a real hit, a lady from the cafe came over to ask where we had got it from and was very impressed when M told her he made it.
Squidge was the most pleased to have got her strawberry cake
Fun on the soft play…
Time for cake…
When we got home, I wanted to take a picture of Squidge outside, so I would have an official 3-year portrait, but Squidge didn’t want to, Fidget was happy to oblige though, so here she is aged 5 & 1/4…
Opening up party presents!
Thanks everyone!!
13th October
Playing with balloons
14th October
Squidge received a paint your own flowerpot, Fidget still had one to do from her birthday, so they painted one each.
15th October
Squidge has a funny habit of doing lots of voices for her dolls and bears. Sometimes it can be quite spooky, as it can seem as if there are several people in her room. I managed to get a video of her doing some of it (don’t worry – it’s not spooky!)…
20th October
Took some pictures of the birdhouse…
I think she likes it!
Happy birthday big girl!
