Wednesday 6th was Squdge’s 1st birthday. M had already gone down to working 4 days a week, so had arranged to have his Daddy day for the week on the Wednesday so we could all have a day out together.
We came down and after a spot of breakfast Squidge got on with opening some more presents. We got her a lego duplo bus set. She really likes playing with cars and such, and the duplo is something that both girls can play with together. Squidge does have a go with building with the blocks, but best is to have Fidget build something and then she can knock it down “Squide-zilla” style.
She also got a fab book from one of our colleagues at work which was really sweet of her, she is a fan of the blog so thanks Nikki – the book is ace – we all love it!
Granny and Grandpa sent a great present of a lego duplo zoo. It has great chunky zoo animals – really good size for Squidge to play with, and a super zoo car and some lego people – brill!
Squidge had a nap, we all got dressed and then headed out into town. We went to another pizza express, as it went down so well previously. The girls chomped down the dough balls and salad…
Then this time they had pasta…
Followed up with yoghurt icecreams again. We had another rerun of the Happy Birthday singing that this time M did get on camera…
As it was midweek most of the restaurant was filled with business people. Squidge found them fascinating viewing, from the glass porch..
she’s a funny bean!…
we then saddled up and walked over to the aquarium…
Soon Squidge was down and wandering around under her own steam.
In the first picture you should just be able to see a little hand poking up as Fidget moved in. I then went in to try to lift Squidge into shot…
We all really enjoyed having a wander about and were impressed with the different habitats in the aquarium.
erm, lets move on dears…
aside from the ahem, personal moment, the turtles were really cool…
attempting a team photo…
We then got called into the IMAX theatre to watch the 3D film that came with the entrance cost. Fidget gamely put on her glasses and we waited. Some jellyfish appeared on the screen (and in the air infront of us), Fidget was batting them away, after a quick chat, remove of glasses to check etc, she was happy enough with that. But then we met the shark…Fidget started to scream…and did not stop until her and I excited stage right.
Unfortunately with his glasses on, M didn’t see which door we went out of and he and Honour exited the auditorium in the opposite direction. It took a while for us to meet up again, but when we did we continued to enjoy our stroll around…
The last tank had this super huge window in a dark room, there was no one else around so I just sat against the back wall and took photos and vids of the girls running about…
We then went into the shop at the end so Fidget could choose a present for Squidge. She chose a turtle, which Squidge was very pleased with…
We then went out into Millennium square, where the girls had a run round and I took more pictures in the sunshine…
We then went home to open some more presents – thanks guys!
We then got a super surprise as cousin A arrived. A is one of Squidge’s godparents and had brought Squidge some lovely presents; a fab music centre that both girls love running around to and also a lovely charm to add to the bracelet she got at her christening. Thanks A it was lovely to see you!
