Getting right up to date now. Monday 26th July, we were at home (Mondays are generally at home days, squeezing in a few chores between the playing). While Squidge napped, Fidget and I made some improvements to the lego house. Fidget then decided we should all go on holiday to France so we made a train. We were joined by Granny (1st seat on rear carriage) and Grandpa (1st seat behind trike). Fidget was adamant that Squidge should drive the train, so off we went…
The French house was very like the English house, but I added a swimming pool and slide, and moved the swings into a separate play area with another slide and a climbing “mountain”.
Some holiday snaps… TeamChallis…
Tuesday 27th Squidge was 42 weeks old…
Fidget at 42 weeks…
In the afternoon we went across to the sensory garden to meet the mummies. The kids had a good splash and play again.
Saturday 31st we had been invited out to a party at Steve and Susanne house. We had our usual lovely weekend breakfast of pancakes (enjoyed by all TeamChallis members now), then had a play in the back room. Squidge was demonstrating her most recent skill – walking with a baby walker or Fidget’s car in this case.
Squidge had a nap and Fidget and I got showered and dressed. Fidget looked very pretty, I took some pictures while she played with Daddy…
After lunch we set off for Steve and Susannes’ stopping to pick up our new stove on the way.
It was a really nice afternoon, I sat chatting while M played with the girls. They helped put up a gazebo…
Steve, Susanne and Theo…
On Sunday Grandpa came over and spent the day helping out.
Fidget and Grandpa sharing a joke…
Grandpa worked very hard all day, sorting out the garage for M, I was clearing out the ensuite and M looked after the girls. In the afternoon while Squidge napped; Fidget and I picked up the fallen apples…
Later, Fidget asked for water play and I thought Squidge might like to join in…
I went back up to do some more tidying in the ensuite, there is alot of stuff in there, we need to find places for it all or get rid of it. There is quite alot I ended up getting rid of. M and the girls came up for a brief consultation of the great chuck out. We put the gate across, shut the other doors (except Fidget’s room) and let the girls wander about. Squidge crawled off. Several minutes later she returned…walking! She had found the V-tech baby walker in Fidget’s room, turned it around, got up and steered her way – walking into our room, with the biggest sunshine smile on her face! We were very impressed.
M and the girls went back downstairs, M soon found Fidget had taken to the corner with the bubble wrap from the new stove pipe…
M had a go at getting more baby walking footage of Squidge…
Monday 2nd – another stay at home day. Squidge grabbed the magnetic sketcher and had a go at waggling the pen about, with a bit of help she created her first proper artwork…
While Squidge napped, Fidget and I hung out the washing and picked the first peas and beans of the year.
So for the girls tea I did quite a veggy feast with beans and peas from the garden, sweet corn, new potatoes, tomatoes and then breadsticks and ham.
And so we find ourselves at today (up to date!). Today (Tuesday 3rd) Squidge was 43 weeks old…
Fidget at 43 weeks…
them both now…
