Sunday was the dragon boat race, thanks so much to all you lovely people who sponsored M, the team raised £855 for the Anthony Nolan Trust, and we all had a great day.

The team was called Smaug's revenge, Smaug being a (supposedly) famous middle earth dragon, so wizards was chosen as the fancy dress theme, there were some good efforts with the DIY costumes... M....

T going more sorcerer's apprentice...

S with his trick or treat hat, C with a curtain he grabbed from somewhere!...

one of our colleagues turned up - looked at M and whispered "who is that?"...

A...
Fidget looked on unimpressed by the costumes and large number of beards...

J had an impressive cloak made from a black fitted sheet...

Unfortunately when it came to getting ready to row, the team was told that cloaks could not be worn, but hats and beards were de rigour

Someone is glowing in our midst... have we got a holy man on board?...

They loaded up for the 1st race...

The team recorded a good time even though they lost. Every team had 3 heats and the best two times were combined and the best 4 boats went into the semi-final then final.

M had some technical difficulties with the wig... ie he couldn't see during the race!

Given the riverside location, we used reigns with Fidget for the first time...

she wasn't particularly impressed...

Alot of the other people from work had brought their kids along, our MD S and little L...

Fidget had a chance to socialise...

Sitting with little F (who also goes to her nursery group) doing some colouring...

Little F is quite a player, and made some moves on Fidget...

She played it pretty cool...

We went down to the bank to watch the second race...

I took some video, it wasn't their most impressive outing unfortunately....

Then it was time for the final race...

the time was good, but not good enough, but we were all in good spirits having enjoyed the day...

the team fresh off the boat...

team plus cloaks....

team plus cloaks, plus entourage...

By this time it was early afternoon and very hot, so I was keen to get out of the sun, we headed home to freshen up and change before going to little I's birthday party. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, it was a really nice afternoon and lovely to see everyone.
