On Monday 12th we took a walk out to the park with Grandma and Grandad. Granny and Grandpa had brought Fidget a scooter so we took it out for a test run in the park…
we had another visit to the fountain
Tuesday was Fidget’s 3rd birthday, Squidge was also 40 weeks old. After some more present opening – where Fidget received an indoor scooter from Grandma and Grandad. We then went out to the zoo with Grandma and Grandad.
First stop as usual was the lions…
the lion came over to size up Squidge– but in true Bristol style she was not bovered.
while we are here looking at a Squidge v Lion face off, here is Fidget at 40 weeks…
we went into the bat enclosure, Fidget wasn’t sure about the bats, matters weren’t helped by mummy squealing and running away while a wee-ing bat flew overhead.
we then went into the aquarium section which was a hit with both girls…
then after lunch, the monkeys…
both girls felt at home amongst their kin
then my favourite; the penguin and seal enclosure…
Fidget and Grandad in the maze…
Then for the main event as far as Fidget was concerned – the paddling! It was quite an overcast day with odd rainshowers, so i had wanted to leave the paddling to the end of the day so we weren’t walking around wet and cold. When we finally went into the paddling area there was no one else there probably due to the steady drizzle. Grandma and Grandad walked Squidge around while me and Fidget got on with the important business of paddling…
Squidge is a great fan of water and splashing, but once she realised she wasn’t getting to join Fidget in the cold, she decided a snooze was the next best option…
The rain really started to come down so we packed up and headed home, but it had been a really good day.
On Wednesday we went out to Cribbs Causeway. Back at the house the birthday girl opened more super presents and played with Bear and dolls…
Fidget wanted some photos with the birthday boy bear (who is also 3 years old)…
Fidget wanted to take a picture of us… and then wanted some pictures with Grandma and Grandad…
In the evening, Grandma and Grandad babysat so M and I could go out for a curry at our local Tandori nights, which was super – thanks Grandma and Grandad!
On Thursday 15th, Grandma and Grandad set off back home, Fidget was at nursery so it was just me and Squidge playing at home.
I got out the tunnel to give Squidge’s new found crawling skills a good challenge…
Squidge loves pulling herself up on Fidget’s little car, she stands there waggling her leg at it in an attempt to get on it, so I helped her out, once on the car she is already very good at getting it too move, but gets frustrated if it doesn’t go fast enough.
then she had a go at throwing....
Crazy to think Fidget is now 3, I am reminded by Squidge so often just how she was as a baby. Fidget at 3 is a delight; full of fun and energy with a very caring and gentle side, I am very proud of her - my beautiful little girl.
