Saturday 14th May, M was keen to continue with his decking mania by adding a step to the far deck. It had been quite a dry spell, so the girls were helping me with the watering…
On Thursday 19th May we set off from work down to Dorset. We all stayed overnight then in the morning we got the girls settled, happily playing in the garden before M and I headed off for the weekend.
I should say Squidge was not very well, she had a bit of a temperature and was very grumpy, but we didn’t really know what it was. But Granny and Grandpa gamely said “don’t worry she’ll be fine, off you go”, I was quite happy that Granny and Grandpa would take good care of her. Unfortunately for them it did mean they were up with Squidge quite a bit during Friday night!
Back to Friday morning. M and I drove off through the new forest, stopping for a bit of a stroll around…
Before heading to our hotel and spa in Brokenhurst. We enjoyed some tea on the lawn and a read in some very cool copper hanging chairs before lunch in spa restaurant.
We then stayed in the spa for the rest of the weekend, swimming, steaming, hydrotherapying, sauna-ing. On Saturday M had booked me in for some treatments while he lounged by the pool. We enjoyed lovely food at the Manor restaurant Friday and Saturday night. Thanks so much M!
Sunday 22nd May, we checked out and headed down to Bournemouth beach. It was v windy…
We walked along the promonade, but the wind was driving the sand into our faces with quite some ferocity. We took the funicular up the hill to a hotel to have tea…
We then wandered back, had a browse at the shops and headed back to Granny and Grandpa’s to pick up the girls.
Squidge was in much better spirits and had been since Saturday afternoon.
The girls had a swim…
And then we headed back home. Thank you so much Granny and Grandpa!
My birthday was during the week, but I was in London helping run a work event, it was a really long day, but it was lovely to get home and find a heap of wonderful presents and cards from everyone. Thanks!
At the weekend, Granny and Grandpa came up to us. Grandpa and M worked tirelessly on the en-suite. On the Sunday we had a wander around the garden with the girls and I tried to get some pictures of them in their lovely new clothes from Granny…
A good game of “running around”…
and a play on the swings…
Tiling was the main job for the weekend, they made really good progress…
Friday 3rd June, the weather was a bit warmer than it had been for the past week or so, so we spent much of the day outside including some water play…
I set up a tent using the parachute…
The girls were sitting together singing a song, I took a couple of vids…
On Saturday 4th June, M found himself at a loose end for 3 minutes so started on making a tree house. He built a frame for a platform, then we had lots of fun and games trying to balance it in the tree so he could work out heights.
On Sunday the weather was alot worse, but M still gamely headed out into the garden to work on the tree house. Uncle A had offered to help, but after a night on the tiles, rolled out of bed at about 11:30 and made it over to us for lunch!
(M on hearing what time Uncle A had got up)
After lunch he was keen to help however…yikes…power tools!
He then had a good play with the girls, while M and I consulted on the design.
Time for more power tools, and then the “running about” game…
Monday 6th June, Daddy Day. The girls enjoying some fruit…
they then headed out for Fidget’s swimming lesson and to take the car in for MOT. While at the pool they bought Fidget some goggles. She is very taken with them. They are just the attire required at breakfast…
