Holiday day 3: A proper pool day

The morning started with a proper lie-in for me, I was very grateful to catch up on lost sleep.

The weather was forcast to be good over the weekend and to get worse in the week so we decided to chill out and have a relaxed pool day. It was really nice not to be putting the girls in and out of car seats and worrying about what to take with us so we could counteract the frazzling of the journey with a bit of peace.

I forgot to add location maps for our arrival at the cottage on the Saturday so here they are – including showing the outdoor pool so that seems appropriate…

The weather was really nice, warm and sunny but not too hot. The pool was a little on the cool side for babas so Squidge didn’t really get into it as much as  expected (maybe she objected to wearing the pink French foreign legion hat). We had the pool to ourselves, which was great for splashing and swimming.

Grandpa was rather tired from the journey too so took a snooze in the shade.

I love these “Heat magazine” paparazzi pictures of M and the girls…

(I think I was spotted)

By about 3pm we went back poolside…

We came back to the cottage and had a sit outside and explore the little courtyard outside the cottage…

You can see Granny and Grandpa sitting outside our cottage in the background of this picture…

Granny and Grandpa borrowed Scrabble from over at the main house and after dinner we had our first game, M and I versus Granny and Grandpa. It was a pretty close final score – Granny and Grandpa winning.

This was one of my favourite days of the holiday just for how relaxed it was even though we did nothing particularly notable.
