It's a new week - I think that's probably the only thing I want to say about work!
Mark was up in Chorley on Tuesday and Wednesday getting the office up there ready for people to return. He stayed away in a hotel. It was funny, it's still not allowed to stay in a hotel for leisure, so he had to have a letter from work saying that it was essential that he stayed.
Anyway so that meant that I was picking up Bunnykins on Tuesday. She asked me to bring these biscuits …
She calls them Mik-a-do with the "Do" pronounced as in "I do" not "Doe a deer". I absolutely love it. She says it in all seriousness and why shouldn't she. She's been finishing off her crafting for the present for her friend. There was a grand unveiling on Wednesday evening.
She'd made a little fluffy teddy from pom poms. It was adorable. And Guinee pigs from polymer clay.
And a dream catcher!
It looks fantastic.
I love how spore of Bunnykin's crafting can often be found around the place, such as this teeny bobbin.
A bobbin left by the Bobbins.
Ben came over on Thursday. It was lovely to be sitting outside. He had brought music for a song I like, but I can't really sing it, not in the right register. But then we went back to "The Chain" from the Fleetwood Mac stash, which was much better.
Friday night Mark had organised us a Greek meal. Bunnykins had got us all set up outside to eat which was a nice treat for the end of the week. The weather has been damp but not too cold, it was just lovely to sit out with some bouzouki music playing gently away.
I had had quite a few plants delivered in the week, and a good handful of other garden jobs besides planting. It was a bit drizzly but it was nice to be out. The week was feeling a bit heavy on me, it was good to get stuck into the tasks and just focus on the now. I did sit for a while listening to Lee, rehearsing in his garage. It is well soundproofed but some sounds do creep out. I couldn't help having a little cry.

I carried on gardening and was shortly joined by Bunnykins. She was keen to help out. We planted out some geraniums and potted on some hardy geraniums. It was lovely to have her company and she was a really good little worker.
I suggested that we had a hatch lunch. It feels like a nice part of the weekend routine.
And the food is yummy.
In the afternoon, we had various errands to run. Bunnykins had been clearing out some clothes and we had started talking about the yr 6 leavers party. It looks like they will be able to have a leaver's party this year. It was not sure that it would happen. We had a look at what she could wear. For Woo's yr 6 leavers party she had got a sequined t-shirt dress from a charity shop which she was going to wear, but then changed her mind for a floral and striped t-shirt dress. Neither of these dresses fits Bunnykins. Bunnykins is definitely taller and of a different build.

Woo and I sat on my bed to watch the fashion show as Bunnykins tried on different things. She has her own style, and it has always been a style I have admired. But it was becoming clear that Bunnykins didn't have many options to style up - or rather much of what she was trying on was too small.
On Sunday morning, Mark made us pancakes and then he and Woo went off to frisbee.
I was feeling a bit lackluster. Mark had suggested that I did some painting which I thought was a good idea.
Bunnykins was off doing more tidying and sorting in her room. She came down to find out about lunch and gave me a hand putting the food on.

After lunch, Bunnykins tried on some of her clothes that she wasn't sure if they would fit...none did apart from one pair of trousers!
She had tidied up her wardrobe which looked really neat. We had a look online and ordered a couple of things like joggers. I had also ordered a couple of potential things for yr6 leavers, though they are all quite flexible so I don't think it's too big an extravagance.
It was funny to see some of the clothes going out. The pink floral thing in the top left below was a little sun cover up that she wore in Portugal, gosh she was tiny then! The Portugal trip was back in 2014, 7 years ago!
The spotty green fabric was a strapless dress with quite an 80s vibe that we had got from a charity shop. There were all sorts of party dresses that haven't been worn in years. Lots of lovely things. Most of the clothes are perfect sizes for the Chernobyl Children's Life Line charity. No children will come over this year, but hopefully next year. We'll keep them aside in the loft.
I sat outside a good while and read. There were so many birds.
I kept trying to keep my mind in the present. The day was passing and soon it would be Monday again, but that would happen whether I dwelt on it or not, so best just to enjoy the taste of beer and crisps and the peace of my garden with the sound of birdsong and a gentle breeze in the trees.
