Another Halloween project, making glittery bats…
spoooky!
30th October
A cold cold day, we had the fire going and the girls sat down to help me make some Christmas presents. I had printed out some images of gold frames on my super iron on printer paper, and then ironed them onto plain tea towels and cotton bags. The girls then set about creating artworks to populate the frames using fabric pens. It was really nice to sit together working away quietly in the warmth.
31st October
Girls dressed in their full superhero costumes (minus jumpers).
on the lookout for trouble…
the girls did some jumping to get the full effect of the capes…
super sisters…
I made some Witches brew for lunch (spinach soup), they also helped to make some cheese scones. The girls were not impressed with the soup, but gamely gave it a go.
In the afternoon the girls were invited to a Halloween party which one of Fidget’s school friends was going to in her street. Everyone was very friendly, but the girls took quite a bit of encouragement to get into the games…
Squidge was happy to have a go at putting her hand into witches brew (pasta, boiled eggs etc) to find sweets amongst the worms and eye-balls. They were also very happy to tuck into the lovely food.
Infact, everyone else disappeared to bob apples, but Squidge carried on with the eating.
After food and games and once it was dark, everyone headed out to trick or treat around the local roads with certain houses pre-prepared to receive the party. The girls were over the moon with the haul they received. It was drizzling out, but we carried on, eventually the wet weather got too much and with full bags of treats we said our thank yous and went home.
