collecting veg from the garden…
4th August
TeamChallis headed off into Bristol. I went to have my hair cut then met up with the guys for lunch. We tried out the ZaZa Bazar all you can eat place which the girls really loved, particularly the all you can eat ice cream bar.
I then went to enjoy my birthday present from M, which was an afternoon sewing class at the folk house. The class was to make a zip purse. It was really enjoyable to sit for the afternoon with a bunch of other sew-ers and make something.
11th August
We took the girls down to Granny and Grandpa’s. They were to have a little holiday with Granny and Grandpa and during the following week Mark and I would come back to Bristol and both work a 5 day week to get the TOIL days for later in the summer holidays.
Squidge was having a go at potty training and doing ok. She did have rather large amount of warning of poos. This particular picture was taken after about half an hour of sitting on the potty, we stayed there for nearly another 30 mins before the big arrival!
It was a great week, the girls had a super time going out for adventures including to Alice in Wonderland world which they loved, and to Pool Park.
M and I took advantage of our freedom in the evenings, we went out to buy a new mattress – what was very relaxing was to try out the beds without worrying about what the girls were up to running around or out of the store. We then went straight on for a curry.
We also went from work straight to Bath Spa, for an evening spa session which was brill. We floated around in the rooftop pool, had tea in the restaurant and then returned for more floating.
18th August
We drove down to pick up the girls. They really wanted to show us Alice in Wonderland park. M and Grandpa were working on the van, so the ladies headed out for the day.
The tea-cups were funny, each time we passed Granny I pointed her out so she could take a photo, Fidget smiled each time but Squidge managed on each turn to look in exactly the opposite direction, she was so disorientated. The picture below was with the cups stationary…
The girls had a run round the soft play while we enjoyed a cup of tea. Fidget was very good looking after her sister.
Fidget and I went on the runaway train, which was the most rickety ride, not frightening, just bone-shaking.
We then went to the pony riding…
the girls loved it. So buoyed by this we tried the pet corner. Fidget was really chuffed as she was one of the older children she was given one of the big fluffy rabbits.
Squidge was really excited to meet a guinee pig “he LIKES me!!!”
After a snack, the girls wanted to go on a little circular train ride. They sat together in front of me.
all is going fine…
As we are flying around, I hear Squidge say “I’m getting off”
And then she starts to slide down under the bar (all beautifully captured on camera!)
They stopped the ride and Squidge jumped in the back with me and off we went again.
Squidge and I then went on the swing ride. Fidget wouldn’t go on her own and their was no way that Squidge was going on without an adult to stop her from bailing out midway!
Finishing off the day with a sedate train ride…
Then time for some swimming.
Thanks Granny and Grandpa!!
