Managed to get Fidget’s curtains finished and hung, really pleased with how they look and Fidget likes her leaf curtains too…
29th January
Girls decided they wanted to try out their capes…
they jumped up on Fidget’s bed which was one of those rare opportunities to get a nice picture of the pair of them..
later on we got out some of the girl’s craft projects. Fidget wanted to paint a box to give to Grandma for her birthday and Squidge was painting some fridge magnets she had made previously.
4th February
Cold weather came in this weekend, we had a walk out but it was nice to be warm at home.
The snow came down in the afternoon, we spent most of the afternoon by the fire in the front room, playing with beads and watching the snow come down. Later we went out in the back garden, it was dusk and the snow and fairy lights were magical.

The twins turned 2 years old! We all went out to the zoo for the day…
Granny and Fidget doing a penguin walk…(incase you were wondering!)
then it was back to Aunty M and Uncle A’s for a super birthday tea!

One of the twin’s presents was a slide, before it got too dark we all headed out to give it a try…

Over the half term, M took the Wednesday and Thursday off, so he took the girls down to Granny and Grandpa’s for the week. Of course the girls couldn’t wait to get in the pool.

Back in the pool…
after night after night of super swimming, Fidget was getting really confident at swimming. She had developed a really good swimming style, head under water, bottom up, legs going like the clappers! She was doing great!
Helping Granny with the cooking….
On the Monday, we were back to the normal routine. Fidget had her swim lesson in the afternoon and after her week of intensive training she was raring to go. Normally in class, Fidget is a bit laid back, she has managed to swim a lenght previously but does not normally put much effort in so pushes off, stands up, pushes off etc. So when the teacher asked her to swim across this time, she put on her goggles (definate sign of seriousness), pushed off, again bum up, head under water, legs going like the clappers and swam most of the way across (head coming up a few times for air). The teacher was gobsmacked, and a beaming Fidget was only too delighted to engage in high fives when she emerged at the other end!
She has a really strong kick, her arms are a bit of an afterthought at the mo, so when she gets that going it looks like she will be a very strong swimmer (think we are a bit late for 2012 though). At the swimming lesson, the teacher asked all the children to swim across, there were 5 in the class. The other 4 set off, Fidget was daydreaming, the teacher shouted across to Fidget to swim, Fidget noticed, smiled at the teacher, jigged up and down a bit, waved at Daddy, put on her goggles and set off...she was the first to reach the other side.
