Sunday 6th Feb Uncle A and Aunty B came over for Sunday lunch. It had been windy during the week and Fidget was looking forward to flying her kite in the park. Knowing how much Fidget loves Mary Poppins A&B arrived having rehearsed the “Let’s go fly a kite” song as a duet with ukulele – it was very special – thanks guys!!
After lunch, Squidge (and M) had a nap while the rest of us went out for some class A kite flying…
After that there was time to go across and play on the zip slide…
even I had a go…
In the evening after A and B had gone, we made a sleigh out of a cardboard box, hooked up two little horses and the girls got dressed up as princesses on their way to a winter ball. Well this is what Fidget had in mind, not sure Squidge knew but she was very happy to participate.
Tuesday 8th I had offered to look after Ellis and Leo while Mush was at AnteNatal. We had a great morning – noisy – chaotic but great fun.
We had out the duplo which everyone enjoyed…
cheesy beamers…
Everyone sat down nicely to have a snack together…
then it was time for some running around…
Fortunately Aunty B arrived soon after, she was coming over for lunch but had come early to give me a hand. So we played cafes…
and a puzzle where you push in coloured pegs to match a picture…
Saturday the 12th we went across for a party to celebrate the twins 1st birthday…
we all had a super time and it was great to be celebrating with the twins and their friends.
Sunday 13th we were at home, on the Wednesday I had taken the day off (as I had worked a 4 day week a few weeks previous) and had spent the day sewing – making a cover for the sofa bed chair in the front room and coordinating cushions. It was a lovely day, it rained the whole day and i just sat in the new study – by the radiator, listening to the radio and sewing – bliss! Anyway I still had a couple of cushion covers I wanted to do, so while Squidge slept on Sunday afternoon I got on with it and Fidget gave me a hand…
she does like using scissors and is actually quite good and careful, so I let her have a go at helping me cut using my thread snipping scissors….
As Monday was valentine’s day, I also ran up some bunting flags on the sewing machine and then we all sat down to do a valentines day project together. We each had 3 flags to decorate so we could make flags for each other…
Flags for Squidge from Mummy, Daddy and Fidget…
Flags for me from Squidge, Fidget and M…
Flags for M from Fidget, Squidge and me…

Wednesday 16th and I was intending to work at home so I could go to a dentist appointment to have a consultation about having a wisdom tooth removed, but unfortunately Squidge had had a sicky bug on Monday and Tuesday and so while she was back to better health was not allowed to go into nursery. I did my best to get some work done while looking after her but for the dentist appointment Aunty B very kindly came over and was able to look after Squidge in the dentist’s waiting room – thanks Aunty B – you’re a star!
On the Friday Granny and Grandpa arrived. Grandpa was helping M work on the ensuite and I was really glad of Granny’s help as I was recovering from the same sicky bug which had struck me down on Thursday evening. Thanks Granny and Grandpa!
I wasn’t feeling too bad though and on Sunday was up for a little sewing with my trusty helper…
M had also not been well, though he had manfully carried on with the DIY work. On the Friday and Saturday evening I had made a bed for M on the living room floor as he was too shattered to sit up on the sofa. The girls thought it was ace, Granny made it so Fidget could go at one end and Squidge at the other with the blanket over them both. Squidge got in and found Fidget’s toes which they both thought was hilarious…
Squidge is so cheeky, I was trying to take a picture of her and she kept picking her nose, so I kept moving her hand. She then paused while I took a picture but just as I took it she put her finger back then started laughing – it was really funny – though I guess you had to be there!
