Our shower is currently broken and the hot water from the taps has been mysteriously restricted making baths difficult so on Saturday morning we decided to head out to B&Q for some DIY supplies, then to the swimming pool and on to Chiquitos for lunch.
The swimming was great, Squidge loved it, M had her sat on the side and was jumping her in after 3, but she couldn't wait for that and was jumping in herself! Fidget was fantastic too, she was jumping in at the deep end without arm bands or me holding her hand or anything, I just grabbed her and scooped her up once she went under the water. She spent most of her time doing that.
Then we went to our favourite restaurant - Chiquitos. We were all having a nice lunch when a man walked through dressed as a cartoon Mexican holding balloons. Fidget freaked out and leapt up into M's arms sobbing. The Mexican headed outside unaware of the devistation he had created. After a while I decided that it was no good to let her stew on her worries about what this thing was, so I took her outside to find the Mexican and meet him and see that it was just a man in a costume. She was not impressed, but when I explained that he had just been in the dressing up bag she managed to look at the man who kindly took off his mask to show he was human! He was really sorry about it and then ended up going out the back to change, so Chiquitos remains the Challis place of choice to eat out.
Sunday was hanging round the house, M managed to fix the hot water, so baths are back in. Fidget and I got dressed up as a sailor and a pirate. We made an eye patch together, we used white felt so Fidget coloured it in in black ink - hence the bit of kitchen paper behind it (the colouring was quite enthusiastic and I didn't want to end up with a black eye).
