Its been a long week... we came home from hospital the same day really. I couldn't wait to get home to see Fidget who was was waiting at home with Granny and Grandpa. When we got back Fidget came running to the door, shouting "Baby sister! Where's my baby sister?". Fidget has been so good with her, very gentle and caring. If Wa-wa cries, Fidget comes over strokes her head and says very sweetly "its alright".

We've had a few trips out, but mainly stayed in the house, trying to find enough time in the day to do all the feeding, nappy changes, have enough time playing with Fidget and giving Wa-wa attention when she's awake. Ontop of that we tried to catch up with sleep lost at night while we had the chance. Granny and Grandpa have been a great help, Granny particularly, who cooked all the food, did all the shopping, cleaned and tidied, looked after one or both of the girls, changed Fidget's nappies, got her dressed and looked after her when she got up at 6am each day! Thanks so much to you both.

Wa-wa is not sleeping that well. One positive point is that she has her longest non feeding stretch at night, so we have generally got a 6 hr stretch at some point each night. Unfortunately, she is very windy and reluctant to sleep laying down, so generally she is falling asleep on M while he gets gradually more horizontal till he can pop her on the bed, while I sleep on a camp-bed on the floor. Or I feed her laying down and then lie very still and stiffly next to her, hoping she hasn't taken in too much air.
Fidget is enjoying playing with her and is always pleased to find her awake.

I think I look a bit tired, suppose it is not surprising...

Fidget enjoyed playing with Grandpa and Daddy, particularly a fab game of follow the leader on the far deck...

I wish I had more time to play with her as she is super fun.

Fun with Wa-wa is a little more sedate, but when she is awake, she is very keen to look about.

On Saturday we gave Wa-wa her first bath, she wasn't that impressed, though we all sang to her and she seemed to like that. Fidget was very helpful, washing and singing to her baby sister.

On Tuesday Wa-wa was 1 week old so I took some pics...

Here is Fidget at the same age...

To me they both look very similar, and often when I am feeding Wa-wa it is the weirdest sense of deja-vu.
Fidget of course is really a big girl now, she is so chatty, has such a wide vocabulary and says such funny things. On Tuesday, Grandpa was very helpfully installing a fan in the downstairs loo and a fire alarm in the hall. This required the carpet and floorboards in the upstairs hall to be taken up. When Fidget saw the hole in the floor she was shocked, and when told that Grandpa had done it, she clearly felt the need to let him know that making such a mess in the house was not allowed so she marched downstairs, stood in front of him, hands on hips and demanded "Grandpa, whatcha done a my house?", when he giggled she declared him to be very naughty.
When she'd calmed down it was back to playing. She really is so pretty, with her little curls on her head. I wonder if it will take Wa-wa a similar length of time to get a head of hair?

Granny & Grandpa left on Tuesday night, so you might wonder how I have time to blog. Well Fidget is still in nursery on a Wednesday and Thursday, to minimise disruption to her and give me timw with Wa-wa. At the moment, Wa-wa's chosen use of that time is to feed alot, and sleep. Most of her sleeping she wants to do on me, so I haven't much chance of using the time to nap myself, so blogging with one hand or watching daytime tv it is. I suppose it is not too strenuous, but it is hard not to think of my lovely comfy bed and duvet upstairs.
