I do love that they still do World Book day at the girls' school. I wasn't really involved with the costumes apart from popping online to buy Bunnykins a Camp Halfblood t-shirt, so maybe that makes it even nicer! They did discuss the outfits with me over half term and it was nice to be involved in that way.
I think the main thing about it, is that I love that the school has created an environment and a culture where they feel comfortable to dress up. I know that isn't the same for a lot of secondary schools.
Woo was Fern the green fairy...
I think really it was just an opportunity to dress up in stuff she would probably wear anyway....+ wings. Not even sure if she would actually wear the wings normally, I know she would wear the pixie ears! She has become a lot more confident which is nice to see.
Bunnykins had gone for Annabeth from the Percy Jackson books.
It was a busy morning getting ready for school and then out the door. (BTW you can see Hector watching below - he is my new plant pot 😄)
We'll see how the day went later! From 2012, Alice in Wonderland and Sophie from The Tiger Who Came to Tea.
From 2014, Bobbie from the Railway Children and Alice in Wonderland.
"Daddy! Oh my Daddy!" 😀😀From 2015, Ariety from the Borrowers and MoominMama
Then there were quite a few years that the school didn't do dressing up.
2018 was the last year of Primary for Woo and they did go back to it which was nice: Arwen from Lord of the Rings, and Hermione from Harry Potter.
This was where we got the favoured ears for Woo!
I must have 2019 somewhere... I had stopped posting them online after 2018. Woo went as Katnis Everdeen from the Hunger Games, and Bunnykins was forced to dress up as Where's Wally which she was quite peeved about, and was such a weird idea to get the whole school to dress as Where's Wally...
Bunnykins making the best of it 😄....
Then of course 2020 and 2021 never really were. Funny times.
