I took this on Sunday as we watched the final in the movie journey we have been on: Avengers End Game. We were all gripped...even Bunnykins (though she did carry on sketching).
On Tuesday the weather was pretty drear, Mark hobbled over to the hatch with me. We had a nice lunch. At about 12:45 it had started raining lightly. I suggested we wait 5 minutes, over which time it proceeded to get heavier. We both needed to get back to start work, so went outside a little after 12:50.
We braced ourselves and then set off.It then began to hail. I ran on to get the door open, though it was super slippy under foot.
picture taken in error, but i think it gives a sense of the weather...
I finished off work in time to have a shower and get ready to go out. We had supposed to have been going to the Winterlude festival at the school which would have been another opportunity to see Bunnykins in the yr 7 choir, but that got cancelled 😞.
I was still due to meet the mummies for a meal out at the White Horse in Hanbrook. Probably my one and only opportunity to dress up for a night out this year!
It was really lovely to see them all and catch up. It did lift my mood considerably.
Woo getting some art homework done on Wednesday evening...
I had a good sense of ease on Friday morning. Feeling some autonomy over what I could decide to do. I went to sit in the front room with my breakfast in order to finalise and order the curtains for the front room.
Just before 10am I walked up to see Claire. We had been planning on Zumba, but it got called off. We had a nice walk up to Sainsbury's and got a Costa to sit in the park with.
It was so lovely to catch up and also have a good old laugh.
I knew Saturday was going to be busy. After lunch I took both girls into town. I wanted to get Bunnykins to find some things for Christmas presents. Woo was massively enthusiastic, despite me not needing to get her anything else (I guess that is the issue, there is loads that Woo wants right now and very little that Bunnykins does). Bunnykins did not enjoy the experience with hot and busy shops, and loud music. She did eventually feel a bit more relaxed, but it was all a bit argh, I should have known it would be.

A little Christmas tree had come through the post from the Lillingtons earlier in the week. On Friday morning we had a spare 10 minutes to decorate it (despite the girls needing to go out for earlier busses at the mo while there is a particular problem with getting drivers for busses and busses being cancelled).

At about 4:30pm, Woo headed home with her bags of purchases, and then Bunnykins and I wandered across to where she was going to a birthday party of her new schoolfriend B. We were a bit early so went into Stamfords Book shop - an environment that Bunnykins was very happy to linger in.
Ben had just finished teaching in town, so met us there. I dropped of Bunnykins and then Ben and I grabbed a bite to eat. It was nice of him to keep me company a while, but he had to head home before the pudding course.
I eventually got asked to leave as they had other bookings. I managed to cut my hand on their loo door, and after being plastered up I went out in to the cold to wander around until Bunnykins was done with the party.
They had all gone up to Millenium square. I wandered that way to see if she needed her coat (a persistent drizzle now coming down) or any money. I was shoed away with the insistence that neither were required.
I took refuge in the lobby of the Ibis hotel right by the square. There is something very comforting about a hotel lobby especially if you are able to buy a hot drink. Finally I felt calm. I waited for Bunnykins to call and then said hello to B's parents before Bunnykins and I went to find the car and head home.
On Sunday morning we got the front room ready for the plasterers.
After lunch I took Bunnykins to see her friend A, then the rest of us went next door for afternoon tea with Nancy and Peter. When we were all back home, we worked together to get the sofa out of the room which was a bit of a job.
...but we did it...
It is now really a mess in the back rooms...
Everything was ready for Monday.
With no space to hang out downstairs we all retreated upstairs. Mark and I started watching Bake off on the laptop on our bed and were soon joined by the rest of the team...
