I am not sure when I am going to stop counting weeks, i.e. this is week 88 supposedly. Which is 88 weeks since lockdown began in March 2020.
I think this was taken on Sunday night...Bunnykins was keen to get the rest of TeamChallis in on the tiddlywinks.
On Monday, both Mark and I were working from home. Mark has now bought a gadget that plugs into the electric socket and is a much better extension for the WiFi, so I now can actually work at my desk...glory be!We had time to grab a coffee and toasted sandwich in Costa.
Then went into the supermarket to the pharmacy. It was weird sitting on chairs looking out at the supermarket. It is an overwhelming kind of place with a lot of shouty packaging and signage. We went in individually to get our jabs and then cycled home.
On Tuesday I was working in the office. I stopped off on the way in to drop of a birthday card to my brother.
And at lunch time I tried a noodle place nearby where I could sit with my book. It was a good job it wasn't a library book as there was quite a bit of noodle sauce everywhere.
In the evening, we had our tea. Woo always optimistically asks "what is for pudding?" even though we very rarely have any. She suggested smores - more in hope than expectation - but Mark said yes and set about creating some indoor smores for them, which they were very pleased about.
Woo was still feeling very buoyed after supper and had also found a very fetching hat...
On Wednesday Mark was in Overmoor working. It was a bit of a tough and stressful day, so I was glad when it came time to go meet Bunnykins at netball. This time it went relatively smoothly. Mark was going out in the evening and had got in a Charlie Bingham lasagna and chips, so Woo could put the tea on for the 3 of us with relative ease. It was all ready for us when Bunnykins and I arrived home at 6:30pm.
On Thursday Mark was working in Birmingham, I worked at home. I would have gone into the office normally, but just easier to be home to sort tea and such. Ben arrived and had some food with us, then Kevan came over for a UkuleleLand practice. We have a performance on 4th December, so it was necessary to go through the Christmas set. Mark and Woo went out to Frisbee practice, he isn't playing at the moment given his injured knee, but it is great that Woo is still so enthusiastic.
I was glad to wake up on Friday knowing it was a non-working day. One thing I wanted to do was decide on the colours and fabrics for the front room. I chose the paint colour and fabrics for the curtains and for re-covering the sofa bed.
I had a run, then did some gardening - lifting some of the last begonias and getting the new bedding plants in. But was stopped by a heavy rain coming in.I returned my attention to the front room and also managed to fix the sofa bed, which I was quite pleased about.
I had been due to go out with Hannah in the evening to Mokka, but she was a bit under the weather. I changed the booking to the 4 of us. The girls were chuffed to get a meal out...I think it was the thought of pudding. They weren't there for the conversation...
The food was really good, Woo and I shared a burger and then ordered 3 tapas dishes which worked really well. They were both on great form chatting away once the food arrived.
They were even more perky once the pudding arrived...unanimous verdict on choosing churros.
On Saturday morning I can't really remember what we were up to. The girls were getting on with homework mainly. It was an awful day weather wise. A storm (Arwen) coming through with high winds, and biting cold. I know it is not clear on this picture, but it is snowing.
I spent much of the day sorting out the workshop. It was very satisfying to get the shelves tidied up, and also to get the workbench cleared.
Bunnykins had some geography homework where she needed photos of a local ecosystem and she wanted to photograph the park. Both girls were also enthused with the idea of mushroom spotting. It was freezing but we all had a mooch around the park.
Some mushrooms were found.
