Our Christmas break started on the Friday before Christmas, as that was M's first day of leave, and if I can remember back correctly... we went across to Longwell Green to take Squidge for her first swim. It was bitterly cold out so we wrapped up warm. The babies pool was quiet and a good temperature and Squidge took it all in her stride, even the duckings didn't bother her much. We then went across to Chiquitos for lunch. It was a really nice start to the holidays but Squidge found it all a bit too much by the end of the day...
Tuesday was Squidge's 11 week birthday....

Fidget at 11 weeks...
and them both now...

Granny and Grandpa dropped in for the day on their way up to Aunty M's, Fidget had a great day playing with them both and Squidge enjoyed all the cuddles.
On the Wednesday we decided to take a walk up the high street and to have lunch a local cafe. Granny has recently come back from Germany and among other things brought back some clothes from M's little cousin N, who is 6 months older than Fidget. Fidget loved what she calls her "Christmas jumper" and also the pink salopettes (which is a new word she is now also very fond of!), they all came in very handy as it was still freezing out...
When we got back Squidge was having a good chat with Fidget, i didn't really catch it, but it's still a cute vid...
Christmas Eve we stayed at home, a big hit was the "smoking man" that Granny bought back for us from Germany, you put cinnamon scented candles in him and it looks like he is smoking...
As bed time drew near we were all very excited...
We took up the mince pie and drink for Santa (fruit juice) and a carrot for Rudolf...
And then Fidget settled down for bed. We had a good night, with Squidge waking for milk just once and settling easily. Fidget woke early with a nightmare so M went in with her and they both fell back asleep in her bed. When she woke up properly she spotted the full stocking hanging off her chair and whispered to M "Daddy, what is that?!", "Daddy turn the light on!" Which he did, she saw the stocking and yelled "presents!!".
a teether, rattle, a bowl, plate, cutlery, cup and most impressively he managed to find a motorbike!
Downstairs, M made us pancakes for breakfast and we started opening the presents from each other...
Fidget's main present was a blackboard, one for in the house and one to go outside on the side of the shed. Grandpa had painted the boards for us which was brilliant. M put the fixings together so it would hang off the kitchen divide and I added the fabric finishing touches!
Fidget gave squidge the teddy she had bought for her...
when Fidget unwrapped the chalks she was even more excited about the blackboard...

Squidge was overjoyed with her bib...

one of the other presents we got for Fidget was a doctor's dressing up set...
the doctor will see you now...
after getting dressed up in our Christmas finest we set out to Aunty M and Uncle A's house, where there were lots more presents for everyone to open...
thanks to little R and N for the super flower rattle!
Fidget had a great day playing with everyone as we were joined by M's Aunt S and Uncle K, and his Aunt M and Uncle S, plus of course Granny and Grandpa.
Squidge enjoyed the attention too and did lots and lots of smiling.

Thanks to Great Aunty M who took some lovely photos too, hope you don't mind us using them here
Fidget got lots of lovely books and sticker books from Granny, Grandpa, Aunty M, Uncle A, and Great Aunt and Uncle M and S so thanks all, they were great for keeping her entertained until lunch...

It was a really nice Christmas day...

particularly good knowing we weren' far from our own beds at the end of the evening....
On boxing day, M's family hit the Monsoon (and Maplin for the boys) sale then came over for lunch with us. M made a venison pie with celeriac mash, It was his first pie and was delicious...
He also made a triffle, using fruits from our garden, which was lovely...
After lunch we had a bracing walk around the park...

with Fidget looking like a Russian princess in her lovely new skirt (thanks Granny) and Christmas boots! (as she calls them).
Fidget enjoyed playing with everyone...

and looking pretty for photos...

making sure of course that Bear was in the frame along with Chops and mini-Chops (Squidge's), thanks to J for the lovely dogs!
Fidget got dressed for bed in her balerina pjs that Granny had picked up in the sale, they are beautiful, the only problem is she wont take them off in the morning!!
The day after boxing day, Grandma, Grandad, Uncle A and Aunty B arrived. Fidget was really pleased to see them, and there were lots more presents to open.
The next day, M spent the morning in the kitchen preparing a lovely game pie, and we all sat around playing and having cuddles.

Fidget really liked her new t-shirt from Grandma and Grandad, though hardly stopped running long enough for me to take a picture...

Soon the pie was ready and yet again it was delicious...
For pudding this time M had done a blackcurrant fool and christmas pud. M loves Christmas pud so was a little peterbed to see how much Fidget enjoyed it too - he is not used to sharing Christmas pud in the TeamChallis house!
We left Squidge sleeping a bit longer and I went in with them for Fidget to open her presents...
Father Christmas brought a wind up ladybird torch which Fidget thought was ace, a wind up jumping frog, a sea rollers playdough set, a kite, chocolate coins and an orange.
Sqidge woke so we went in to see what Father Christmas had left her...

While Grandpa was having a chat with Squidge we were sure she'd done a "hello" coo, M video'd him doing it again and she certainly did!...
The lunch was delicious and Fidget yummed it down, she also really enjoyed the puddings of trifle, christmas pudding and had several extra helpings of custard.
