On Monday, had Wa-wa in the sling for a while, so Fidget could do some artwork...

You can see that Fidget has a bit of a shiner. It happened on the soft play at nursery, where she ran into the back of a little boy who was reversing. Poor Fidget.

Later we did some drawing, Fidget drew a motorbike and a person with long hair on it, it wa great but soon covered under lots of scribble! On the video below she asks me to draw a motorbike, then you should be able to see her start to draw her own, with the two wheels (before adding more scribble on the top!), so is she going to be an artist or a hell's angel!?!

On Tuesday Wa-wa was 6 weeks old, so took some photos...

Here is Fidget at 6 weeks...

I think my last few postings have been fairly brief, with just some photos and a quick description of what the photo is. So feel like I would like to give a bit more of an update on how they are both growing.
Fidget now has a really wide vocabulary and talks almost non-stop at home. She is quieter when we are with other people, but she does talk in whole sentences and about quite a range of subjects. She picks up words that interest her almost immediately. The other day when Wa-wa cried, Fidget declared "She is agitated!". She is fascinated by maps, and certainly understands that they show roads, parks, places etc, when looking at them she gives directions "round the corner, down the road, at the hospital..."
Because I am spending alot of time feeding Wa-wa, Fidget comes and sits next to me and we read books. Her current favourites are the Cat in the Hat, and Tabby McTat (one of the Gruffalo books). Along with the Hungry Caterpillar, Where the Wild things are, Hairy McClairy books and some Beatrix Potter we read them over and over again. Fidget will quote lines from the books (and others) at any time. I enjoy giving her the next line back, and she thinks it's funny too. But it does mean she can make some odd statements some time!
Fidget has been really good with Wa-wa. She will get her hat when we go out, make sure she has a blanket and will stroke her hair and say "it's alright" when Wa-wa cries.
Wa-wa is growing fast, she is putting on weight well. She is a heavy feeder, but at night feeds less which is good, though she is often unsettled. She is awake a fair bit of the day and keen to look around and smiles alot more though it is still hard to get it on camera. She is very strong in her head and neck and also her legs, on the change mat she has managed to push herself right to the top. She likes to be upright, very much like Fidget did.
Fidget is very excited about Christmas. At the weekend we went into Mamas & Papas and let Fidget pick a soft toy to give Wa-wa as a present. It went quite well, at one point she had "this one for Wa-wa" and "this one and this one and this one is mine!". She eventually got the idea and picked one and was very chuffed to help Daddy pay for it, carry it out of the shop in a bag and then later wrapped it with me. She didn't even try to unwrap it again!!!

Love the idea of getting a gift for sibling. I'm going to steal it and do the same. xxx
