Fidget is 2 years old today!!!

I can't believe it, she is turning into a proper little girl, she isn't a baby any more.

This weekend we had birthday celebrations for her. On Friday lunchtime Grandma arrived and came with us to little stars and then to the supermarket to get provisions for the weekend. Fidget had been on great form at little stars, running around and full of beans - but then in the supermarket she was not happy and while Grandma pushed her in the trolley and I ran around for groceries - she just called out for me the whole time. We got her home, she was really pleased to see Uncle A and Aunty B arrive but was very lethargic and felt very warm. I took her temperature but it was normal, but she didn't seem normal - she just wanted to sit still on my lap.

The next morning Fidget had rallied and was pleased to see Granny and Grandpa arrive so we had a full house.

Everyone set to work helping out. Grandma got on with weeding with the help of Aunty B, Uncle A and Fidget started picking fruit. Grandpa and M got on with the shade sail and Granny took charge of refreshments.

Activity moved into the kitchen with Uncle A and Aunty B making a delicious blackcurrant semifredo and Granny making a Gooseberry fool. M busied around in the kitchen making all sorts of delicious salads and the basic cakes. Grandpa fixed the new sink so we could use it finally.

On Saturday afternoon, Fidget and I went across to little A's birthday party, which was super. We couldn't stay long, but did enjoy the food and the pass the parcel.

We decided that Sunday would be the day to celebrate Fidget's birthday, so when we were all down and breakfasted in the morning Fidget got to open some presents. She wasn't feeling great still (she seemed to be cycling between having normal energy and non). She managed to open a few presents before getting a bit tired with it all. She opened her dolls house from Granny and Grandpa - which is super - thanks!
There was a lovely height chart from great Aunty N and Uncle P, despite the glum face in the picture she was very interested in this, particularly with the record book that came with it. Thanks!

From the Booths she got a fantastic baking set, with proper silicone utensils and cake moulds - we can't wait to try it out -thank you.

She was happy to play, but unwrapping was too much effort, so we left it until abit later to bring out some more.

There was still lots of preparation to do, Uncle A and I helped M out with decorating the cake. Aunty B was tireless in her kitchen efforts.

Fidget and I had a go at a few more cards...

She opened a Miffy magnet book and sticker book from Mummy and Daddy...

and a beautiful dress from the Stark family - it was so lovely we decided it should be the party dress for the day. Thanks!
She was quite enthused by her chopping fruit from great Grandma - thank you GG!

There were a selection of lego people from Granny and Grandpa - thanks!

More cards...

Fidget then felt very lethargic and didn't know what to do with herself, after a bit of flapping about, she went to sleep on a cushion in the room with us, while we all had lunch.

After her sleep she found her main present from Mummy and Daddy - a red trike - she was pretty excited about this - particularly when she found that Bear had discovered it first.

There was lots of activity starting to lay out the food and do the final bits of arranging the house. Fidget found some snacks and with the fresh outdoor air rallied quite a bit.

We got here into he party frock...

and our guests started to arrive...

Little A had a cuddle with baby L...

The kids made themselves at home...

The mummies and kids gathered round to do the secret birthday fairy thing for all the kids, unfortunately little S was missing, but we couldn't do another day altogether. Fidget got a watering can full of play gardening stuff which is perfect for our little tichy-tichmarsh and a lovely striped t-shirt. Thanks secret birthday fairy!

We then decided it was time to bring out the fantastic birthday cake, and went into the shade tent to light it as it was quite windy.

S managed to burn her finger lighting the cake - we were very appreciative of her help - sorry for the injury!

I was very proud of the cake. M had done all the hard work in baking it and cutting out the shapes for the farm house, covering it with marzipan etc. Me and Uncle A had done the icing and decoration on the field. I had also been the one ordering the tractor...I had thought I was ordering something which was matchbox sized for the top of the cake, but as you can see it was a little larger!!

As the party died down, we had lots of help tidying away and then it came time to say goodbuy to our houseful, with Uncle A, Aunty B, Granny and Grandpa heading home. It felt very quiet without them all. Grandma stayed until lunchtime the next day, so there was time to try out the trike in the park.

And have a play in the sensory garden...

As Monday was Fidget's actual 2nd birthday, M took lots of pictures, here are a few of the favourites...

This one is my favourite...
